Lois and Clark Concordance Template

This is a template created to help fans who have volunteered to transcribe elements from a particular Lois and Clark episode. It's mainly a guideline, but fans can feel free to create their own categories. If you have any questions or suggestions, just send an email to zoomway at good old AOL.

WHAT'S IN A NAME?
(If the episode title has a special meaning, like "Tempus Fugitive" being a play on the Latin phrase tempus fugit (time flies), it should be listed here. If you're not sure, leave it blank and I'll fill this part in when I edit your transcription)

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! (A FOLC guide to Metropolis and other locations shown and mentioned in the episode)

POWERS USED AS SUPERMAN (self explanatory)

POWERS USED AS CLARK (self explanatory)

HINT! HINT! (for the galactically stupid, i.e., if Clark does something that seems to be a rather obvious hint that he's not just a mild-mannered reporter, list it here)

CLARK'S LAME EXCUSES (or Lois's, Martha's, whoever says something that fits when covering for Clark's need to leave and become Superman)

DEVICES (any object that stands out, like the time bomb in the pilot, for example)

BEEN THERE (Clark's travels, like Borneo and London, mentioned in the pilot)

SAY WHAT? (Clark's knowledge of foreign languages)

HISTORY, HOBBIES, ALL CHARACTERS (anything we find out about the main characters, Clark, Lois, Perry, etc. and recurring characters like Dr Klein goes here)

OTHER CHARACTERS (this is where the guest characters and villains are listed, as well as minor characters who are mentioned or introduced in this one episode)

NAME THAT TUNE (this is where recognizable music playing in the episode is listed, like "I Only Have Eyes for You" in The Phoenix. If you are unfamiliar with the song, just leave it blank and I'll fill it in while editing)

The L&C theme music (this subcategory was created because there are episodes where the Lois and Clark theme music is heard in some unusual way, like playing in Lois's earpiece in Wall of Sound, or being whistled by Clark)

PERRY-ISMS (this is a category where you can list any sage wisdom or Elvis Presley story the famous editor espouses, but you can also leave it blank)

NOT-SO SUPERMAN (sometimes Superman is going to lose his powers due to green kryptonite, or sometimes his personality will be affected by red kryptonite or other agent like an Atomic Space Rat noxious perfume)

SHAMELESS SELF PROMOTION (once in a while even a straight arrow like Clark Kent will give himself a pat on the back, like when he told Lois, as Superman, that Clark was a pretty smart guy in The Source. This would also be a good category for the times Clark speaks of Superman as if a separate person)

LIFE GOES ON (other headlines that are generally unrelated to what is going on in the episode)

MISCELLANEOUS (if something seems important, but you can't see where it might fit in any other category, put it here, like a phone number, or license plate, etc.)

Feel free to add a category that's important to you, or you believe is important to your episode.

Refer back to this page while watching your episode and you can also copy and paste it into Word, Wordpad, Notepad, or any other text program and when you hear a name, number, location, etc. mentioned in your episode, just pause the DVD and jot it down and continue. It's that simple.

Above all, have fun! Remember, if you need any help at all, please PM or email me and I'll be very happy to help you. This is a gift from fans to fans and to honor the 20th anniversary of the debut of a show that brought us all a lot of happiness.
